To run older games on modern versions of Windows, you often need to use Compatibility Mode. This tells Windows to mimic an older operating system (like Windows 7 or XP), allowing the game to run in an environment it recognizes.
Step 1: Open the Compatibility Settings
Locate the game folder and double-click to open it.
Click HERE for instructions on how to find the game folder.

Right-click on the games .exe file and left click on 'show more options'.
Click HERE if you can't see the .exe file extension.
Click on 'Properties'.
From the properties menu, click the Compatibility tab.
Step 2: Choose the Operating System
Under the 'Compatibility mod' section, check the box that says Run this program in compatibility mode for:.
Click the dropdown menu directly below that checkbox.
Select Windows XP (Service Pack 3) for games released before 2010, or Windows 7 for games released after 2010.
Step 3: Save and Test
Click the Apply button at the bottom of the window.
Click OK.
Try launching your game again.
