If your games aren't downloading or updating, your computer may be having trouble establishing a secure connection to our servers. This type of connection failure is sometimes logged as a cURL Code 60 error and is usually caused by a setting or security software on your computer that's preventing the Big Fish Game Manager (BFGM) from communicating properly — not an issue with your account or your games themselves.
The steps should help resolve the cURL Code 60 error. We recommend trying each one in order and testing the BFGM after each step to see if the issue is resolved.
Step 1: Check Your Security Software
Antivirus and security software are the most common causes of this type of connection error. Some programs scan secure (HTTPS) connections for threats, which can interfere with the BFGM's ability to communicate with our servers. Temporarily disabling this feature can help identify whether it's the cause.
- Open your antivirus or security software and look for a setting called SSL Scanning, HTTPS Scanning, or Web Shield — the exact name varies by product.
- Temporarily disable this feature, then relaunch the BFGM and test.
- If that resolves the issue, turn the setting back on and add the BFGM as a trusted or excluded application in your security software instead.
NOTE: If you use Windows Defender, go to Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Manage settings and temporarily turn off Real-time protection. Remember to turn it back on after testing.

Step 2: Check Your Computer's Date and Time
Your computer uses the date and time to verify secure connections. If it's off, even by a day, it can cause connection failures with our servers.
- Right-click the clock in the bottom-right corner of your screen and select Adjust date and time.
- Make sure Set time automatically and Set time zone automatically are both turned on.
- Click Sync now if available, then restart the BFGM and try again.
Step 3: Disable VPN or Proxy Settings
VPN software and proxy settings can reroute your internet connection in a way that interferes with secure communications. Try disabling these temporarily to see if they're the cause.
- If you use a VPN (such as NordVPN, ExpressVPN, or a work VPN), disconnect from it.
- Open Settings > Network & Internet > Proxy and make sure Use a proxy server is turned off.
- Relaunch the BFGM and test.
Step 4: Update Windows
Windows updates often include important security certificate updates that the BFGM relies on to connect securely to our servers. If your system is out of date, this can cause connection failures.
- Open the Start menu and go to Settings > Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates and install anything available.
- Restart your computer and try again.
Step 5: Reinstall the Big Fish Game Manager
If none of the above steps have resolved the issue, click [HERE] for instructions on how to uninstall & reinstall the BFGM which will refresh its security settings and certificates, which is often enough to restore the connection.
