Below are some common mouse issues that sometimes occur when trying to play games.
Flashing/Stuttering Cursor
Sometimes you'll notice your mouse cursor is stuttering or leaving a trail behind as you drag it across the screen.
Disable Pointer Trails
- Click on the Start button, and select Control Panel.
- Click on Mouse.
- Click the Pointer Options tab.
- Under Visibility, uncheck the box which says 'display pointer trails'.
- Click on OK to close the window.
Change Display Text Size
- Right Click on the desktop screen and select Personalize.
- Click on Display.
- Choose Smaller (100%)-default.
- Click on Apply. Restart the game and check if the point becomes invisible again.
Missing Cursor
Sometimes you'll notice that your mouse cursor is missing entirely from the screen.
Lost Focus
Sometimes the game window doesn’t keep the mouse active when it first starts.
- Press Alt + Tab to switch out of the game.
- Click back into the game window.
Multi-Monitor Setup
If you use more than one screen, the mouse may 'wander' off the game window.
- Move your mouse to the other monitor.
- Bring it back to the game.
Full-Screen Bug
Games can fail to show the cursor in full-screen mode.
- Press Alt + Enter to switch between full-screen and windowed.
- Check if the cursor reappears.
Outdated Drivers
Graphics card drivers can cause display issues, including missing cursors.
- Update your graphics card drivers (NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel).
- Restart your computer and launch the game again.

Overlay Conflict
Extra software overlays (like Discord or Steam) sometimes hide the cursor.
- Turn off overlays such as Discord, Steam, GeForce Experience, or Xbox Game Bar.
- Restart the game.
