The instructions below will walk you through gathering a System Report for your Mac, a built-in Apple tool that collects details about your computer—such as your processor, memory, graphics card, and macOS version. It's the Mac equivalent of the 'dxdiag' report used on a Windows PC. Having your full system details helps us determine what is causing your issue. Your System Report contains only technical specifications — it does not include personal files, passwords, or browsing history.
- Click the Apple menu in the top-left corner of your screen.
- Select About This Mac.
- Click System Report. (On older versions of macOS, you may first need to click More Info, then System Report.)
- When the System Information window opens, click File in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
- Select Save.
- Choose an easy-to-find location, such as your Desktop, and click Save.
Once collected, you can then attach the saved file (it will end in .spx) to your reply or support ticket.
